Our heroine, a self-exiled princess from the Kingdom of Orion. Her journey will be full of struggles to  manage magic, save her family, and use the Essential Elements to solve the mystery of the Troubles

Esme's Mother and current regent of the Kingdom of Orion, Peony's focus on fun and whims has driven much of her family away. She strives to keep charge of the Kingdom and deal with her sister's trifling interruptions.

Esme's cousin and best friend, and twin to Alex. A kind-hearted, sensitive soul, who looks to keep everyone on track and focused on solving their mysteries

Ava's twin brother, and Esme's cousin who is always up for fun, food, and more fun. His current loves are his cat Marshmallow, and his family, of course. 

A tall, dark, and handsome stranger that strikes Esmes's fancy and also keeps a few secrets of his own. 

Part of the sisters' three, Esme's aunt Violet connects with energy to keep the kingdom moving forward. She loves the mountains, the goats, and being in charge. 

the final triangle of the sisters' three, Esme's gentle Aunt Ivy finds her comfort in nature. The most sensitive of the sisters, she longs for family connection and acceptance. 

Goddess overseer of the Kingdom and namesake of the mountains that separate it from the rest of Mar, Artemis was Orion's one true love.
